Stoli is gorgeous! He's gotta weigh close to four pounds, if not more. And he's a total poofball! Oh, and he's an albino - which I'm a total sucker for... *sigh* I think we have a new fuzz. LOL! He's probably around 3yrs old and doesn't bear any tats. I'm thinking he's privately bred as he has a very bulldogged look to him. I went to pick him up yesterday & took Ozzles with me. We had to wait in the parking lot for a bit at the pet store, but that gave Oz a chance to come out & sleep on my lap. (Car rides = a VERY mellow Oz) I asked him if he was going to be nice to the new boy, but he just blinked at me and then promptly went to sleep. What a stinker, huh?! Anyway, Stoli is totally not who I previously thought he was... Though I do remember him now. He started off as a "drop off" at the pet store. He was then placed with a family & returned again 3 wks later with the claim that he absolutely wouldn't get along with their ferrets, so they didn't want him anymore. I remember him sitting alone in the pet store with a sign above his head saying he *must* be a single ferret... I also remember mulling it over, but the pet store gal said "Huh-uh! I know you guys have ferrets". Heheh. So home he goes with another family. He lived there for about a year, and then they too had to give him up. Seems DSHS says "no ferrets"! The pet store lady's ferrets didn't like Stoli at all. Somebody even took a big ol' chunk out of his nose... It'll be a while before the little hairs grow back in. Otherwise, he's a chubby, fluffy cutie! Every other step he was taking last night had a little bounce in it - like he was going to take off in a wardance, but was a just a little too shy. He met Baloo first last night. They sniffed, and then pretty much ignored each other. Then he met little Nilla, Kamikaze & the Bump, one at a time. Nobody cared. Then I let the "thugs" meet him. Again, no problems. About 30 mins into playtime, Baloo decided he might like to put Stoli "away", but Stoli has a good pound on him and just ignored him. It's funny because I've *never* seen Baloo do anything like that to a ferret. Even Kamikaze bossed him around as a kit! In fact, Baloo was the ONLY one that got even remotely snippy with Stoli. I fixed that little episode by drizzling ferretone on Baloo and letting everybody lick him. Heh. Shortly after letting everyone out to run, all the fuzzies were racing through the tubes, getting in boxes and dooking up a storm. Speaking of tubes, I've never seen a ferret try to wardance inside one before. Stoli kept getting so excited that he'd bounce all over the place inside the tube & make a huge racket. What a ham!! I left him out with the crew last night & periodically checked in on them. Since there were no problems, I've let him stay out with the group. Cool beans :) He even helped Kaze out with the morning routine (which involves dancing around like an idiot, stealing the cleaner bottle, getting in my pantleg, etc.). Geoff said he was right there at the door this morning too. Me thinks he's going to be another "door dasher"... What is it about those albino boys and rushing out the door!?! And what is it with Nillas pottying on the bookshelf?! Argh!! I've also discovered that he's a carpet scratcher. We'll see if he gets through my setup tonight. So far it has outsmarted Kaz, who is our worst offender. Anywho, I best be getting to work. I don't get paid to play on my site, unfortuately. Hopefully my cam will come back today so I can get some pics for you guys. He's soooo cute! * * * 10/25/04 - Goodbye my sweet Stoli-polies. I am so glad that you are finally feeling better.. and I am so sad to see you go. |
