Ah, my favorite subject. Me.
I'm Megan. I'm about six months shy of being old (30) and have been married to hubby, Geoff, for about 6.5 years.
I'm a new mom to a rapidly sprouting little boy. Colton was born on July 8th, 2007 on the
roll-out day for Boeing's 787. Watching him grow & learn new things has
been nothing short of amazing. I've always been a bit leery of babies, but
can safely say that this one has changed my whole outlook. I now find
babies in general quite fascinating and spend waaaay too much time reading
about and yakking about the things our kiddos are doing. I've only taken a
zillion photos, so feel free to peruse as you like.
A little history on yours truly. I grew up in Snohomish, WA, or Hickville as Geoff calls it. I rode horses, was involved with 4-H & all that, so I suppose the shoe fits. After high school, I attended the University of Washington, earning the incredibly useful, extra snobby sounding French degree (cough). I've ended up a grand total of 10 minutes away from where I started and now live in That 80's House in Everett, WA. That 80's House comes with That 70's Carpet, but that's my only complaint about our new, funky home. We moved in July, when Colton was just a few weeks old. Smart timing, eh? It's a looong story & I won't bore you with the details.
I work at CBA (commercial multiple listing service), where I've been for the last 7.5 years. Not surprisingly, I've drastically cut my hours with the other organizations I volunteered with (ARPH & WFRS) prior to Colton's birth. I don't foster or board animals anymore, but help where I can by doing various things from screening applications, to transporting, to record-keeping.
You could say that I have a problem with small & furry things, and you'd probably be right most days of the week. The hubby literally refers to me as a bleeding heart liberal, and I think that's a pretty fair assessment, both politically & figuratively.
Sidenote: Here's to
this year.
Geoff, Colton & I share our living space with a bunch of furry & feathered friends. Dogs Cartman & Shrek; a bitchy kitty, Socks; 5 ferrets (Kamikaze, Fingers, Zim, Gir, Monster); a Desert Iguana named Iota; an assortment of tropical fish & an African Grey Parrot named Bogie. They keep us busy with their antics and extra busy cleaning up after them. Sigh. I think it's time to invest in a Roomba... now to find one that can climb & clean stairs. Inventors, give a mom a hand, wouldja?!
Now I return you to your regularly scheduled program.
